Cordi joined Placer RCD in August 2020. After earning her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, she moved west and served as an AmeriCorps member for two years with environmental nonprofits in the Sierra Foothills. Following her AmeriCorps terms, she earned an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. Two years of stats and writing warranted more physical outdoor work, so she became a wildland firefighter in Colorado and Nevada. In the off seasons, she alternated as a groundswoman for a local tree company and a freelance writer. She stays busy running and whitewater rafting.
