Allison Erny

A headshot of Allison Erny.

Allison grew up in the rolling oak woodland of Sonoma county, but gravitated towards the tall conifers after studying Forestry and Natural Resources at UC Berkeley. Allison is a Registered Professional Forester whose experience in silviculture and sustainable timber harvest has given her a broad understanding of environmental compliance, forest health, and the complex issues faced by California’s forests. After dabbling in consulting and industrial forestry in the coastal redwoods and in the Sierra Nevada foothills, she is happy to be serving the community as the Conservation Project Manager at the Placer RCD. Her work includes management of large fuels reduction projects, prescribed burn program development, and technical assistance for forestland owners in Placer county. Her favorite parts of her job are participating in understory burns, seeking creative solutions for tree and forest health issues, and collaborating with local agencies, tribes, and organizations. When she isn’t at work in the woods, Allison enjoys mountain biking, swimming in the Yuba River, baking treats for her loved ones and exploring her home state with her dog, Pippin.
