Placer RCD has received over $11M in grant funding to assist in the recovery of private forestland within the Mosquito Fire footprint. This funding, provided by CAL FIRE and the US Forest Service, will be used for hazard tree mitigation, dead tree removal, site preparation, and reforestation on private, non-industrial forestland in Placer County. If you have dead or dying trees on your property due to the Mosquito Fire and are seeking technical advice or financial assistance, reach out to the RCD to discuss your options for recovery.
EROSION CONTROL: It’s important for private landowners to implement erosion control measures after a fire and before heavy rains. Erosion control measures can make re-foresting and rebuilding your damaged property easier. The RCD offers free, site-specific technical assistance on erosion control.
