Sarah started her environmental career in 2000 as a member of the California Tahoe Conservancy forestry crew which sparked her passion for working in natural resources. From there she went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in liberal studies from Eastern Oregon University and a Master of Applied Science in environmental policy and natural resource management from the University of Denver. Over the last 2 decades she has had to the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including forestry, water resources, wildlife, and climate change. She started in her position at Placer RCD in November 2019, most recently working for the Florin Resource Conservation District and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. In her spare time, she volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Placerville Food-Coop and enjoys spending time outdoors tending to her gardens, hiking, biking, and camping with her family.
