Justin Miller is co-owner of Twin Peaks Orchards in Newcastle, a certified organic farm that has been a cornerstone of Placer County agriculture for over a century. With his wife and partner, fourth-generation grower Camelia Enriquez, Justin has stewarded the 100-acre orchard for the past 17 years, blending tradition with regenerative practices to ensure its vitality for future generations.
Raised in San Diego and Baja California, Justin’s early exposure to farming and food processing shaped his lifelong connection to agriculture. Before returning full-time to the land, he managed food plants in major California cities, gaining expertise in production, logistics, and quality control—experience that now informs his pragmatic, systems-level approach to farming.
At Twin Peaks, Justin emphasizes soil health, biodiversity, and regenerative farming, while also raising their four children on the farm and continuing the legacy of Camelia’s grandfather, Howard Nakae. Beyond the orchard, Justin serves on the boards of the Placer Resource Conservation District, California Certified Organic Farmers, and the Community Alliance with Family Farmers, and he chairs the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Small Scale Producers Advisory Committee. In these roles, he advocates for sustainable agriculture, resilient local food systems, and the preservation of California’s farming heritage.
Looking ahead, Justin remains focused on innovation and growth. He is eager to explore new varieties, regenerative techniques, and market opportunities that align with the orchard’s values. Together with Camelia, he strives to expand Twin Peaks Orchards’ impact—offering nutritious food to a wider audience while ensuring the farm continues as a model for sustainable, family-run agriculture.
