Brian Pimentel serves as the Agriculture Program Manager at the Placer County Resource Conservation District. Holding a B.S. in Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems from the University of California, Davis, Brian joined our team in 2021 following the successful completion of an 11-month fellowship as a GrizzlyCorps fellow. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that covers a wide range of land management issues, including soil health, irrigation, and erosion prevention, making him an excellent technical resource for farmers.
Brian played a pivotal role as the lead coordinator for the Placer Carbon Farming Local Stakeholder Group. In close collaboration with regional agricultural stakeholders, he spearheaded the development of a strategic plan that now forms the cornerstone of the District’s Soil Health Program. This Program aims to establish a regional learning hub and foster partnerships with regional, state, and federal agencies to grant producers access to education, financial incentives, and farming equipment.
Within the framework of our Soil Health Program, Brian’s contributions have been instrumental. He has not only facilitated the creation and funding of effective conservation plans but has also guided producers in overcoming challenges associated with adopting regenerative farming practices. Brian is passionate about driving local transformation to reinforce a more resilient and robust food system and aspires to empower farmers in navigating both the social intricacies and agronomic demands of regenerative agricultural production.
