Placer County Resource Conservation District is hosting an introductory prescribed fire workshop for community members and private landowners. Residents interested in how and why the application of prescribed fire is critical to the health of our community members, native plants and animals, and forest health are encouraged to attend. This workshop is paired with opportunities to participate in demonstration and training burns to gain boots-on-the-ground experience with Placer Prescribed Burn Association. This workshop will cover topics including permitting, liability, fire effects on native plants, heat management, landowner resources, unit prep and hazard mitigation, and more. A panel of experienced instructors teach the course.
