The Placer County Resource Conservation District, in partnership with the California State Parks and the US Bureau of Reclamation, will begin a large pile burning project on 2/17/2021. As a part of the Auburn Shaded Fuel Break, vegetation was cut and piled to reduce ladder fuels. Piles are situated on 37 acres throughout the Auburn State Recreation Area but are concentrated around the State Park Headquarters off Highway 49. Smoke and flames may be visible. Please use caution in the area. Trail closures in the Auburn State Recreation Area may apply.
