Rx Fire 101 Workshop

This course is taught by a panel of experienced instructors and is a great opportunity to learn about many different aspects of prescribed fire including permitting, liability, fire effects on native plants, heat management, landowner resources, and much more. If you are a landowner interested in using low-intensity fire as a management tool for your property but unsure of how/where to start, this is an excellent educational opportunity for you. What to bring: Please be prepared with lunch, water, and snacks for the day. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil if you’d like to take notes. A formal curriculum will be shared on the day of the workshop.
Please note, this is a classroom event and will be paired with scheduled demonstration prescribed burns as conditions allow.
Workshop Description:
Placer PBA is dedicated to equipping landowners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to implement low-complexity prescribed burns. This classroom workshop is free and will cover topics including permitting, liability, fire effects on native plants, heat management, landowner resources, and others. A panel of experienced instructors will teach the course.
