What’s inside:
Five easy-to-grow California native plants designed to beautify your space and support pollinators and local ecosystems. Whether you’re planting a curb strip, a container garden, or a backyard bed, this kit makes it easy to create a vibrant, resilient, and pollinator-friendly space. The plant pot size is about the equivalent of a soda can, deeper than a typical quart sized plant for root health. The photo above is for illustration purposes only.

- Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – “Yarrow is an all-star, popular plant choice among California native gardeners, including beginners! It is durable and easy to grow in a wide range of soil types and has low moisture requirements.” (Source, Calscape.org)
- California Fuchsia (Epilobium canum) – California Fuchsia is a hardy, drought-tolerant native that bursts with bright red flowers in late summer, attracting hummingbirds and adding color when few other plants are in bloom.
- Sulphur Buckwheat (Eriogonum umbellatum) – Sulphur Buckwheat is a tough, long-flowering, sun-loving native with cheerful yellow flowers that support dozens of butterfly and moth species, making it a pollinator powerhouse for dry, well-drained gardens.
- Narrowleaf Milkweed (Asclepias fascicularis) – Narrowleaf Milkweed is a slender, drought-tolerant native that serves as a vital host plant for Monarch butterflies. Its clusters of pale pink to white flowers attract a variety of pollinators throughout summer, thriving in full sun and well-drained soils.
- Foothill Penstemon (Penstemon heterophyllus) – Foothill Penstemon is an easy-to-grow California native with brilliant blue to magenta flowers that attract pollinators and light up garden borders from spring into summer.
Each kit will come with a custom cotton tote bag!
optional: Gopher Cages to protect roots
These 1-gallon Heavy Duty Gopher Baskets from gopherbasket.com are hand-crafted galvanized wire designed to last 6–10 years in the ground. They’re built specifically to protect young plants from underground pests like gophers, ground squirrels, moles, and voles—keeping roots safe while allowing healthy growth.
Installation: Simply form the basket into shape, place it in the planting hole, set your plant inside, and backfill with soil. The open-mesh design allows roots to grow naturally while keeping burrowers out.
Highly recommended if you have—or even suspect—the presence of underground-dwelling animals.
optional: pollinator habitat yard sign
A durable, weather-resistant sign to display in your yard, letting others know your landscape supports pollinators. Helps raise awareness and identify your property as part of the network of pollinator-friendly spaces in our community.
