Ellen joined the Placer RCD in August 2024. After earning her B.A. in Environmental Studies/Biology at UC Santa Cruz, Ellen explored various avenues in the environmental field. She worked as a soundscape technician at Grand Canyon National Park, outdoor educator at Golden Gate Recreation Area and Olympic National Park and monitored elephant seals for Point Reyes National Seashore. Most recently, Ellen worked in the forestry program with the Mendocino County RCD assisting private and public landowners with forest health improvement and wildfire risk reduction projects. Ellen is excited to bring a variety of skills to Placer County Resource Conservation District as the Forestry Project Coordinator. In her spare time, you can find Ellen flipping over logs looking for critters, biking on trails or swimming in any body of water.
