Rancher-to-Rancher Field Day

October 7, 2023 @ 9:00 am 4:00 pm

Join the Rancher-to-Rancher Team, Placer Resource Conservation District, NRCS, and your fellow ranchers!

Join us at the “Rancher-to-Rancher Field Day,” a shared learning experience of land stewards, ranchers, livestock operators, interested residents, and agency personnel for a day dedicated to curiosity, land observation, and soil health demos. Throughout the day, we’ll delve into soil health principles and explore the intricate carbon, sun, and water cycles within a pasture and rangeland context. Connect with fellow ranchers and land managers to discuss topics and issues like water, drought, and more.

Practicing the art of land observation is vital for nurturing the land and making informed and adaptive decisions that respond to the ever-changing nature of ranching and evolving conditions. With a focus on asking good questions, the Field Day will employ monitoring of conditions with evidence and teach safe-to-fail experiments that can offer practical insights you can implement on your land. Additionally, the Field Day will delve into the realms of land cover and water resources, appreciating the interconnectedness of these critical resources.

The Rancher-to-Rancher Field Day is a community event utilizing shared learning and land observation. Connect with fellow ranchers, exchange your observations, and facilitate mutual learning, all building towards a day’s end filled with reflective moments, ensuring that the wisdom gained becomes a part of your ongoing ranching journey.

All costs, including lunch, is compliments of the Rancher-to-Rancher Team! Registration is first-come, first-serve and caps at 50 people.
