SUMMARY:Rx Fire 101 Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Placer County Resource Conservation District is hosting an introductory prescribed fire workshop for community members and private landowners. Residents interested in how and why the application of prescribed fire is critical to the health of our community members\, native plants and animals\, and forest health are encouraged to attend. This workshop is paired with opportunities to participate in demonstration and training burns to gain boots-on-the-ground experience with Placer Prescribed Burn Association. This workshop will cover topics including permitting\, liability\, fire effects on native plants\, heat management\, landowner resources\, unit prep and hazard mitigation\, and more. A panel of experienced instructors teach the course. \n\n\n\nParticipant Testimonials for the workshop: \n\n\n\n\n“Fantastic! SUMMARY:QSP/QSD Training
DESCRIPTION:This in-person training is a two-and-a-half-day course intended for all individuals working with construction and post-construction stormwater issues and those who intend to continue working in the State as a Qualified SWPPP Developers (QSD) or Qualified SWPPP Practitioners (QSP).  \n\n\n\nThis workshop focuses on the application of the California Statewide Construction General Permit (CGP)\, provides an overview of writing and implementing SWPPP’s\, site compliance\, enforcement\, and submission of permit documentation to the State’s data base – Stormwater Multi-Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS). SUMMARY:Chainsaw Basics
DESCRIPTION:This is an introductory\, field-based course meant to support community members who are interested in safely using and maintaining a chainsaw. Beginners welcome!! The goal of this course is to encourage ALL community members to participate in managing fuels on their lands. Historically\, people who identify as women\, non-binary\, trans\, femme\, or Black\, Indigenous\, people of color (BIPOC) have constituted a relatively small portion of the fire/fuels workforce or community-led prescribed fire training opportunities. This is not a felling course and no certifications will be distributed. This is strictly to learn how to safely buck and limb and better understand how much fuels work can be completed with a small saw and some sweat!  \n\n\n\nThe course will be taught by two experienced sawyers (Class C Advanced Faller; more than 7 years’ experience as a climbing arborist). The course is limited to 15 participants. \n\n\n\nParticipants are REQUIRED to bring their own equipment and PPE including the below list. Participants who do not bring the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to participate. Fuel and bar oil will be provided.
