DESCRIPTION:Placer Prescribed Burn Association will be burning on the Applegate Shaded Fuel Break on October 8th and 9th from 9:00am – 4:00pm. \n\n\n\nPlacer PBA does not require any certifications or experience to participate. Our mission is based in grassroots education and we welcome all ability and experience levels to learn with us. However\, please come prepared with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) listed below. Placer PBA staff will direct volunteers without the appropriate PPE to remain in observational positions during the burns.

DESCRIPTION:Interested in prescribed fire\, but unsure of how or where to start? Three landowners from Nevada\, Placer\, and Amador Counties will be sharing their perspectives about using low-complexity prescribed fire as a management tool on their properties including challenges\, successes\, and lessons learned. These landowners have received training from local prescribed burn associations and do not have a formal background in fire suppression or prescribed fire. This event will provide a great opportunity for community members to learn from their peers. The meeting will be facilitated by RCD staff\, but we encourage folks to bring questions.
