Healthy Forest

Chipper Program

Placer County RCD presented information describing the program, how it can benefit landowners, and why landowners might choose chipping over burning at a forum in Foresthill on November 1, 2010. The slides from that forum are now available for you to download:

Current Projects

Placer County RCD supports (CARCD) and CDF Forestry subcommittees that provide policy guidance to CARCD and CDF on forest stewardship matters, guidance for the CDF Forest Stewardship Program, leadership for educational programs on forestry and fuels management to RCDs, and assistance to local RCDs in funding implementation grants for forestry enhancement and improvement.

NRCS Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP)

Financial support to private landowners with the goal of sustaining a healthy forest, these practices result in the reduction of fuel load on eligible productive forest lands. In 2006, NRCS contracts over $324,101 provided a cost share of $155,088 to enhance Placer County forestlands.
